Since its founding in 2004, the Vallarta Botanical Garden has been on a mission to protect the unique flora and fauna of this beautiful region of Western Mexico.
Located about 30 minutes south of Puerto Vallarta, the Vallarta Botanical Garden won the prestigious American Public Gardens Association’s 2022 Garden of Excellence Award. Discover the most visited public orchid collection in Mexico and myriad other collections of native plants, including cacti, palms, oaks, magnolia, carnivorous plants, and bromeliads.
The Los Horcones River beautifies the landscape surrounding the Botanical Garden. Its crystal-clear flow is a source of life that provides food and shelter for emblematic species such as the river otter, the ocelot, and the green macaw.
The Garden is also a hot spot for birdwatching, with over 230 species documented here! Hiking trails and swimming in the crystalline Los Horcones River make for a visit and experience you’ll never forget. You can top off your experience by dining in the award-winning Hacienda de Oro on-site restaurant. Enjoy sweeping views as you try different local dishes or sample artisan coffee and traditional raicilla.
We look forward to welcoming you to Vallarta Botanical Garden.
