Gouda Gabor Drag Diva Aged to Perfection
The name Gouda Gabor evokes laughter, glamour, and a life lived vibrantly. This legendary, cheesy-cheeky diva has been dazzling audiences for an incredible 57 years, proving that talent, charisma, and a touch of camp never go out of style. From television and stage to perhaps even a few stolen hearts, Gouda’s career is a testament to her enduring magic.
From Showbiz to the Shores of Puerto Vallarta
I’ve known Gouda Gabor for 25 years. Back in the day, as a plucky junior agent in the Canadian Film & Television industry, I worked as her assistant. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that years later, we’d both be thriving in Puerto Vallarta’s dynamic live entertainment scene.
Gouda’s love affair with Vallarta started long before the Malecón became the polished boardwalk we know today—back when, as she jokes, “it was just called ‘the Mal.'” Over the years, she has split her time between Canada and Mexico, bringing her unique blend of glamour, comedy, and song to both countries.
She has headlined at prestigious Canadian venues like the Capital Ballroom, the Commodore Ballroom, and the Stanley Theatre. In Puerto Vallarta, she has left a lasting mark at Incanto, Act 2PV, Nacho Daddy, The Palm, and Coco Cabaret. And if that wasn’t enough, she once entertained 50,000 people as the host of Canada Day celebrations—talk about working the crowd.
A Career Spanning Over Five Decades
Gouda’s journey began in 1968 at the McPherson Playhouse in Victoria, BC. Now, after seven seasons in Vallarta, she has become a local icon, performing at top venues like Nacho Daddy every Monday and making guest appearances across the city.
This season has been one for the books.
- Monday Nights at Nacho Daddy – Her sold-out shows feature guest stars like Seth Sikes, Nicolas King, Amy Armstrong, and Enrique de Allende.
- February’s “GLEE” Shows – A hit collaboration with Sargento.
- Tuesday Open Mic at “Come Blow Your Horn” – A fan-favorite since November.
- Host of “FOLLIES” at Act 2PV – A spectacular showcase of talent led by Kimberley La Rue.
The Ultimate Birthday Bash – “Leading Legends”
While some shy away from revealing their age, Gouda Gabor embraces it with signature wit. Let’s just say rumors abound that she knew Jesus as a child—but we’ll let the historians debate that one.
To celebrate this milestone, Gouda is presenting:
“Leading Legends”
Monday, March 3rd
7:30 PM at Nacho Daddy
Expect a star-studded night featuring:
- The “Queen” herself, Amy Armstrong
- The “King” of the stage, Enrique de Allende (in a rare Vallarta appearance)
- Maestro David Maiocco on keys
- Plus surprise celebrity guests
With a mix of Broadway, pop, and opera, this show is the ultimate birthday tribute to the oldest chica in Zona Romantica. And yes—there will be cake. But will it be cheesecake? Only one way to find out.
Last Call for Gouda’s Final Shows of the Season
After “Leading Legends,” you still have two more chances to catch Gouda before the season ends:
- March 17 & 24 at Nacho Daddy
- “Match That Snatch” – A live game show featuring celebrity guests, entertainment, and prizes. Think a wild mash-up of Match Game and Drag Race’s Snatch Game.
There’s no slowing down for this lost Gabor sister. With her timeless talent and infectious spirit, Gouda Gabor continues to light up the stage and keep audiences laughing, singing, and begging for more.
Tickets are available in person at Nacho Daddy on Basilio Badillo. Don’t miss the chance to celebrate and say cheers to the queen of camp.
