At just 19 years old, Patriz has already undergone an artistic transformation that many spend a lifetime chasing.
Originally from Vancouver, Canada, she was a free-spirited entertainer from day one and the apple of her world-class performer father’s eye. She began singing at a young age and loved it, though there was a touch of sadness in knowing that her father, who is deaf, could never hear her sing.
Coming from a showbiz family, Patriz began acting in TV, commercials, and indie films at the age of two while immersing herself in musical theatre and Irish dancing. But by 14, the effects of her fractured family were taking their toll on the sensitive young artist. When she arrived in Puerto Vallarta at 16, she carried with her a voice that had been silent for two years. Depression had stolen her music—and nearly her spirit—but the magic of Mexico had other plans.
Her story took a dramatic turn on the intimate stage of Incanto’s famed open mic. In that dimly lit, music-filled space, she stepped forward, uncertain and vulnerable, and sang her first-ever solo song in public. This moment was nothing short of a rebirth for someone who had barely spoken in years. The audience, captivated by the raw emotion in her voice, recognized what she had perhaps forgotten—she was born to sing.
Songs That Shaped Her
Patriz’s journey into Vallarta’s prolific entertainment scene resulted from that pivotal night. She entered The Voice of Vallarta and became a finalist, proving she had the skill and resilience to compete among the city’s top talent. She then went on to compete in the La Voz Catrina, where she placed as runner-up and later competed in the 2nd Annual RISE Talent Competition, winning the third place trophy. Each contest tested her as a performer and person—forcing her to develop the thick skin, discipline, and tenacity needed to make it in live entertainment.
But even with her growing experience, her spirit was fully ignited when fate introduced her to Maru Prado Conti, the renowned vocal coach and program director of TEB: Tu Experiencia Broadway. Under Maru’s mentorship, Patriz refined her technique and expanded her range. In January 2024, she earned a place in TEB’s prestigious musical theatre and vocal program. This led her to an intensive two-week training program in New York City, an experience that solidified her dreams of making it to the grandest stages.
Finding Her Spotlight
The 2024-2025 season in Puerto Vallarta marks an exciting new chapter for Patriz. She made her headlining debut at Act2 with Bring On the Blues, a powerhouse show backed by the phenomenal Bahía Dance Band. Together, they deconstruct modern favorites into their blues origins. In the Cabaret-style Red Room, Patriz and the four-piece band delivered a performance that proved she was no longer just a promising young artist—she was a star in her own right.
Another defining moment arrived on December 12, 2024: Patriz debuted her original song, “You Can Rise.” This intensely personal and touching piece reflects her struggles and triumphs as a singer. With shades of gospel, the song is a soaring anthem of resilience, hope, and the power of finding one’s voice again. It was a full-circle moment as she poured years of pain, perseverance, and passion into lyrics that resonated deeply with her audience.
She’s taking another bold step into musical theatre with her role in The Spaceadelics, a mini-musical debuting at Coco Cabaret on February 22, 2025. As she plays a singing, dancing astronaut in 1968, Patriz embraces the challenge of combining acting, music, and movement in a high-energy, retro-futuristic spectacle.
The Power of Collaboration
While her solo journey has been remarkable, Patriz’s defining moments have often come through collaborations. She holds dear her very first duet with the incomparable Dianna Villamonte. She has since shared the stage with Vallarta’s finest, including Maru Prado Conti (as Lady Gaga), Luis Villanueva, Gloria Fiona, Nick Rogers, Kevin Anthony II, and Enrique de Allende. These experiences have pushed her to new heights, challenging her to adapt, harmonize, and evolve as an artist.
Another magical collab returns as Patriz reprises her role as young Christina, joining forces with Kevin Anthony II to return to their whimsical storytelling series, The Unauthorized Christina Aguilera Story. This unplugged and comedic jukebox musical, written by yours truly, weaves together Christina’s life story with some of her most beloved soulful songs. Accompanied by pianist Ruli Mayorga, the trio will take the stage at Nacho Daddy at 6:00 p.m. on February 16th, promising an impressive and unforgettable performance. Their debut of this unique show garnered rave reviews in May 2024.
And she’s just getting started. With more exciting projects on the horizon—including a tribute show that promises to “shock and awe”—Patriz is stepping fully into her destiny. From a young girl who once lost her voice to a dynamic performer lighting up Vallarta’s most prestigious stages, she is a testament to resilience, passion, and the transformative power of music.
If you haven’t yet experienced the magic of Patriz live, now is the time to watch her rise.
