From February 20 to 22, the city will transform into a festive wonderland, welcoming over 50,000 attendees to enjoy live music, dazzling parades, and exciting shows in a family-friendly atmosphere.
A Festival for the Community
Organized by the Vallartense Institute of Culture (IVC), the Puerto Vallarta Carnival aims to unite the community through a celebration of joy, diversity, and tradition. According to Guadalupe Basulto, director of the IVC, the event is designed to create a safe and inclusive space where locals and visitors alike can come together to revel in the city’s vibrant culture.
Economic Boost for Local Businesses
Beyond the excitement, the Carnival is also expected to have a significant economic impact. Alejandra Cornejo, director of Economic Promotion and Tourism, highlighted the event’s potential to attract thousands of tourists, boosting revenue for restaurants, bars, pubs, hotels, and local businesses.

Thursday, February 20: Carnival Queen Beauty Contest

Friday, February 21: Gay Queen of Carnival Contest
Where: Los Arcos del Malecón

What to Expect: A fabulous drag beauty contest celebrating inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community in Puerto Vallarta.
Saturday, February 22: Grand Carnival Parade
Where: Begins at the Sheraton, passes through the Malecón, and ends in the Romantic Zone
Time: 5:00 PM
What to Expect: A spectacular procession featuring 30 themed floats, performers in dazzling costumes, and an electric atmosphere as the parade winds through Puerto Vallarta’s tourist district.
Live Music and Entertainment
Seven stages will be set up throughout the festival across the city, featuring over 40 artists performing live music, dance, and theatrical acts. The main stage, located at the Malecón Lighthouse, will host:
