From February 20 to 22, the city will transform into a festive wonderland, welcoming over 50,000 attendees to enjoy live music, dazzling parades, and exciting shows in a family-friendly atmosphere.
A Festival for the Community
The Vallartense Institute of Culture (IVC) organizes the Puerto Vallarta Carnival to unite the community through joy, diversity, and tradition. Guadalupe Basulto, director of the IVC, emphasizes that the event creates a safe, inclusive space. Locals and visitors can celebrate the city’s vibrant culture together!

Friday, February 21: Gay Queen of Carnival Contest
Where: Los Arcos del Malecón
Time: 6:00 PM
What to Expect: A fabulous drag beauty contest celebrating inclusivity and the LGBTQ+ community in Puerto Vallarta.
Saturday, February 22: Grand Carnival Parade
Where: Begins at the Sheraton, passes through the Malecón, and ends in the Romantic Zone
Time: 5:00 PM
What to Expect: A spectacular procession featuring 30 themed floats, performers in dazzling costumes, and an electric atmosphere as the parade winds through Puerto Vallarta’s tourist district.
Live Music and Entertainment
Seven stages will be set up throughout the festival across the city, featuring over 40 artists performing live music, dance, and theatrical acts. The main stage, located at the Malecón Lighthouse, will host:
Family-friendly shows from 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Adults-only entertainment from 10:30 PM – 3:00 AM
