Our WHALE Story: The Why Behind PV Everything

Letter from the Editor

Dear Readers,

Welcome to PV Everything, your ultimate online hub for everything Puerto Vallarta.

With great excitement and optimism, I introduce this new travel and culture media platform inspired by the vibrant city we love and the thriving community that makes it so special. After visiting Puerto Vallarta for over 25 years and calling it home for the past year, I’ve witnessed firsthand this city’s undeniable draw on visitors. Like so many of you, I was captivated by its energy back in 1999—the magic of the sunsets, the warmth of its people, and the irresistible vibes of life by the bay.

Puerto Vallarta is evolving, and as it continues to grow, so does the need for a comprehensive resource that connects, educates, and celebrates everyone who calls it home, whether for a week or a lifetime. That’s where PV Everything comes in.

Building this platform is a privilege. I’m honored to partner with two of Vallarta’s most respected influencers, Tricia Lyman, our Director of Communications, and Mike Lyman, our Chief Financial Officer. Over the past decade, they’ve nurtured the largest private Facebook community in Mexico: Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know, with over 150,000 engaged members. Tricia has poured her heart into moderating this group with dedication, compassion, and a remarkable ability to create connections. Together, we aim to expand on this legacy by offering even more opportunities to share stories, resources, and recommendations that celebrate what makes Puerto Vallarta extraordinary.

The essence of PV Everything is storytelling—by the community, for the community. Much like the Facebook group’s lively comment threads, where members eagerly share advice and experiences, our platform will capture that same spirit. With the chaos and uncertainty in the world around us, now more than ever, it’s vital to focus on building the community we want to live in—one that lifts up its people and preserves the beauty and culture that make this city shine.

We’ve also heard your frustrations about finding reliable information online. Whether you’re a visitor trying to navigate a new city or a business owner struggling to be seen, we’re here to help. Our highly searchable directory will serve as a one-stop shop for all things Vallarta, making it easier than ever to connect with the services, businesses, and experiences you’re looking for. From promoting small mom-and-pop businesses to providing advertising solutions for the entrepreneurial dreamers among us, PV Everything is designed to create opportunities for everyone in our community.

I’m thrilled to introduce my husband, Nick Caballero, as our Director of Operations. Nick brings a wealth of expertise in sales and operations, having owned and managed multiple companies over the years. His experience and leadership will ensure that PV Everything operates smoothly and serves the needs of our readers, businesses, and community members with excellence.

We invite you to join us on this journey. Pitch a story, share your insights, and help newcomers navigate life in this incredible city by embracing its traditions, culture, and quirks. Puerto Vallarta isn’t meant to be a replica of where we came from—it’s a place where unique individuals flourish, where creativity thrives, and where kindness connects us all.

Thank you for being part of this incredible community. Together, we can preserve and protect what makes Puerto Vallarta so special while ensuring it continues to grow as a hub for connection, creativity, and opportunity.
Welcome to www.pveverything.com —your new home for all things Vallarta.

With gratitude and excitement,

COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR
Tricia Lyman is an owner and Communications Director of PVEverything.com, a travel and culture media platform in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. After retiring from real estate in Northeast Washington, Tricia and her husband, Mike, did some “country shopping” and chose Puerto Vallarta as their home in 2013. As avid travelers and authorities on international living, the couple has been featured in several articles and interviews. In 2014, Tricia founded the Facebook group "Puerto Vallarta: Everything You Need or Want to Know," which now has nearly 150,000 members. Her vision for PVEverything is to enhance group engagement by offering requested resources, especially self-promotion and advertising opportunities. PVEverything fulfills this need, serving locals and visitors. Before moving to Vallarta, Tricia enjoyed a 25-year real estate career in roles such as Asset Manager, Paralegal, and Broker. Originally from Missouri, she has lived throughout the U.S. with her two children. Tricia and Mike are active supporters of local arts, charities, and Vallarta’s festive lifestyle.

Mike Lyman

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Chief Financial Officer and co-owner of PVEverything.com, was raised in Illinois. He earned a BS in Wildlife Management from the University of Idaho. Mike purchased 16 acres and moved to Stevens County, WA, where Mike built a log cabin from outbuildings and raised his family (one daughter and one son) on a self-sufficient homestead. Transitioning to real estate, he became a top agent in Colville, WA, and purchased his own brokerage company in 1994. Mike met his wife Tricia, and they married in 2001. In 2012, they sold their estate and started searching for a home out of the country with visits to Panama, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, and Nicaragua. However, they finally decided in December 2013 that our old favorite, Puerto Vallarta, was the place to be. Now retired, he has enjoyed an active community life with Democrats Abroad and ten years as Tricia’s support and backup for Puerto Vallarta: Everything you Need or Want to Know and all the benefits and adventures it has brought their way. Mike remains active through his patio gardening, recycled art mediums, music, and local events.

Originally from Italy, where she got her BFA in Painting in Venice, she started her own Design firm in New York City where she got her MBA in Marketing while also raising her son. The visual storytelling of images seems to be her first language. She joined the PV EVERYTHING team to support the launch design needs, and collaborations with the owners' goals and vision to help advertisers improve their brands so they may reach more clients seeking what they offer. We appreciate her commitment and talents during launch. In love with everything in Puerto Vallarta, Lisa enjoys paddle-boarding and snorkeling almost every weekend. Art projects are still a part of her life, with the occasional painting of murals around town and in private residences.
